Just like his best friend, Hide has a habit of placing his hand on his face when he is nervous or is lying. As the series goes on, Hide's loyalty to Kaneki is shown as he risks his life multiple times just to help him out, showing how selfless Hide is. Hide is the complete opposite of Kaneki as he's the outgoing type as Kaneki is a loner. He always looks out for Kaneki, trying to encourage him to be more outgoing and worries if he doesn't contact him in a while. Hide also has a strong sense of achieving his goals as he will always stick by them regardless of what happens showing his determined nature. He also loves to work hard and likes to find new interests as it gives him a purpose to keep trying out new things. He told Kaneki that he hung out with Nishiki, he believed him to be toxic and thought he might hate him. He is Kaneki's only friend and doesn't seem to share relationships with other people, despite his appearance.
Hide has a carefree attitude, almost always friendly and joyful. Hideyoshi is a young man of average height with short, messy, dirty blonde hair with dark roots and olive eyes.
